Norfolk Airoperates a Boeing 737-200 aircraft with code share partners Ozjet and Qantas. Services operate between Norfolk and Sydney and Brisbane every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday; between Norfolk and Newcastle (NSW) on a Monday and between Norfolk and Melbourne on a Friday.
The Norfolk/Melbourne sector on a Friday lands in Sydney en route to Melbourne; the Melbourne/Norfolk sector is a direct service. Commencing 1 September 2008 an additional service will operate on a Monday from Norfolk to Melbourne with a stop over in Sydney; returning to Norfolk non-stop from Melbourne on a Tuesday.
All visitors travelling to Norfolk Island must have a valid passport and a return airline ticket. Australian citizens who do not have a passport can obtain a "Document of Identity" through the Australian Post Office to facilitate a once only trip to Norfolk Island. Australian and New Zealand passport holders can enter Norfolk Island without any further documentation. All other international passport holders must be able to obtain an Australian Visa for entry to Australia prior to entry to Norfolk Island. Medicare does not extend to Norfolk Island and travel insurance, which includes cover for air ambulance in the unlikely event of a medical emergency, is highly recommended. A departure tax of $30 applies to all persons over 16 years. Visitors should book their accommodation before their departure to Norfolk Island.
