You have probably heard a lot of stories about the fishing at Norfolk Island. Well, they're all true! Norfolk is a paradise for the keen fisherman as well as the novice. Norfolk has no harbour so boats have to be raised and lowered by crane into the water. The boats vary in size from 5 to 8 metres and take up to 5 fishermen at a time. The main fish is the "trumpeter", a reef fish that lives in amongst the coral. Also caught are rock cod, snapper, kingfish, trevalley and grouper. All gear is supplied but if you wish you are welcome to bring your favourite rig. Ian has over 40 years experience on the waters around the island.
